Please come join us for a day of sport in the beautiful Walthour Moss Foundation. Riders from all disciplines are invited to join in the competition.

The terrain is varied with excellent footing. Teams of two or three ride either a long course of approximately 9-10 miles or a short course of about 6 miles. The courses are clearly marked with arrows. There are optional jumps of all sizes. There will be a secret optimum time for each division.  Prizes will be awarded to the winners and ribbons given to the six teams in each division who finish with the times closest to the optimum.

Teams in all divisions are invited to compete on either the long or short course.  

Red Fox:  The optimum time will be as if following the hounds at Full Cry; teams will need to mostly gallop or canter.

Gray Fox: The optimum time will be moderately slower than Red Fox, but teams will need to move on at a brisk pace.

Hilltoppers: The optimum time allows teams to go at a leisurely pace.

Trail Blazers: The optimum time requires the team to ride at a moderate pace.

  • Riders should be comfortably attired. Hard hats are required if you plan to jump.
  • 8:00 am: Coffee and donuts will be served
  • 8:30 – 11:30 am: Competition
  • 12:00 pm  – 1:30 pm: Luncheon & Awards

If possible make your entries and payment as a team. Note that juniors (under 18) are encouraged to ride, but there must be an adult on the team. For safety and comfort, teams will be sent out at four-minute intervals. RED FOX teams will start between 8:30 and 9:30. Please arrive in ample time for registration. Entry fees are not refundable, but substitutions are permitted.

Proof of a current (within one year) negative Coggins test is required for each horse. There are no exceptions.
