Have you ever wanted to learn more about Fox Hunting and try it, or know someone who does? Well Moore County Hounds has a great four part series to help introduce riders and horses to Fox Hunting. Who is invited – EVERYONE! This is a great event for pony clubbers, riders of any discipline, and ability.

The goal is to introduce horses and riders to riding in a group and to the country MCH Hunts. Horses will practice riding in a group, crossing small water, and natural obstacles. There will be at least two groups to best accommodate all horses and riders. There will be experienced and calm horses in the groups to act as babysitters for any young or green horses.
Session 3 – Group Jumping Lesson
September 11, 2022
Location: WMF Hunter Trials field, Old Mail Rd.
Mounted
Cost: $40
A group jumping lesson with exercises to improve position, control, confidence, rider’s security, and jumping in a queue. Jumping experience not necessary. Groups of Hilltoppers working on small obstacles.
Session 4 – Group Hound Ride
September 24, 2022
Location: MCH Kennels & Walthour-Moss Foundation
Mounted with hounds
Cost: $30
The MCH Huntsman will be guiding the hounds for about an hour ride. The hounds will NOT be hunting. This is a great time for horses not accustomed to hunting to be introduced gently. There will be many senior fox hunting horses that can provide support to any green horses or riders.
